Kansas State Wildcats Game Notes
Kansas State redshirt senior RB Tyler Burns is expected to see more carries this week against Oklahoma. KSU OC Courtney Messingham cited game flow in their season opening 34-31 loss to Arkansas State as the reason why Burns only carried once in the contest. The six-foot, 220 pound back’s usage was noticeably low considering he was listed as the co-starter alongside Harry Trotter on the team’s initial depth chart. However when Kansas State fell behind, the coaching staff opted to utilize jitter-bug freshman RB Deuce Vaughn instead. Burns will hope to see more opportunities this Saturday when the Wildcats travel to Norman to play third ranked Oklahoma
Oklahoma Sooners Game Notes
Oklahoma HC Lincoln Riley said that he is “very confident” his team will be able to play against Kansas State on Saturday. Riley was speaking to the possibility of the contest being postponed, as we have already seen with four other contests which had previously been scheduled for Saturday. Riley’s comments aren’t exactly a definitive endorsement that the scheduled contest will be played, nor were K-State HC Chris Klieman’s comments from earlier in the week, with Klieman saying that he was “cautiously optimistic” for the game. If this or any other contest is postponed over the coming hours we’ll pass along word
