Florida State vs. Miami Pick
ACC rivals Florida State and Miami clash on Saturday night at 8:00PM ET in what should be a high-scoring affair in Week 6.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Hurricanes are now 3-point home favorites versus the Seminoles after Florida State opened as a 2-point underdog. As for the total, the number hasn’t moved at hitting the board at 65 earlier this week.
Florida State lost for the second time this season last week in a 37-35 defeat at home as a 10.5-point favorite versus North Carolina. It was the Seminoles second loss in three games dating back to their embarrassing 63-20 loss at Louisville three weeks ago. FSU is now 3-2 straight up and 2-2 against the spread in its four lined games in 2016.
The Hurricanes enter play on Saturday night a perfect 4-0 to start the season. They’re also 4-0 against the spread, covering as a 52-point favorite (vs. FAMU), as a 25-point home favorite (vs. Florida Atlantic), as a 4.5-point favorite (at Appalachian State), and as a 7.5-point favorite (at Georgia Tech last week). Miami boasts the No. 7 overall defense in the nation in terms of total yards allowed and is second in the country in points allowed (11.0).
OUR PICK: The over is now 4-1 in the Seminoles’ last five games overall, is 4-1 in their last five games after allowing more than 450 total yards in their previous game, and is 5-2 in their last seven games coming off a failed cover. The over is also 5-2 in the Hurricanes’ last seven conference games, is 5-2 in their last seven home games versus an opponent that owns a winning road record, and has cashed in five of seven games after allowed less than 170 yards passing in their previous contest.
