Cyclones fall to Cowboys
Iowa State is coming off a 34-27 loss at home to Oklahoma State two weeks ago that put an end to a three-game win streak for the Cowboys. The Cyclones are now 5-3 on the season, 3-2 in the Big 12, 4-3-1 against the spread and 4-3-1 with the under.
The Cyclones have been led by their offense this season, averaging 35.9 points and 480 yards per game. Defensively, Iowa State is allowing 22.9 points and 342.4 yards per contest. Brock Purdy has thrown for 2,567 yards and 15 touchdowns this year to lead the offense. Breece Hall is the leading rusher with 475 yards and seven scores, while Deshaunte Jones leads a balanced receiving core with 52 catches for 586 yards and a score.
Sooners suffer first loss
Oklahoma was off last week, but the Sooners are coming off a surprising 48-41 loss at Kansas State two weeks ago. The score was closer than the actual game was, as the Wildcats led big in the second half. Oklahoma is now 7-1 on the year, 4-1 in the Big 12, 4-4 against the spread and 4-3-1 with the over.
The Sooners still come into this game with the nation’s top offense, averaging 49.2 points and 598.4 yards per game. Defensively, Oklahoma is allowing 23 points and 339.9 yards per game this year. Jalen Hurts continues to have a great year, as he has thrown for 2,469 yards and 21 touchdowns while rushing for 801 yards and 13 scores. Three other Sooners have over 350 rushing yards and multiple touchdowns to help a strong rushing attack. CeeDee Lamb is leading the Oklahoma receivers with 36 catches for 816 yards and 11 touchdowns.
College Football Betting Trends
Iowa State
The Cyclones are 5-1 with the under in their last six games in November and 20-8-1 with the under in their last 29 road games.
Oklahoma
The Sooners are 15-5-1 with the over in their last 21 home games and 11-2 with the over in their last 13 games following a loss.
Prediction:
These two have hit the over in six of their last seven meetings, with the winning team putting up at least 34 points in each of the seven encounters. Oklahoma is coming off a loss, but the offense did its part. That should continue this week. Oklahoma has an offense that nobody has really been able to slow down and I don’t see Iowa State figuring that out on the road. I also see Iowa State putting up some points on Saturday. The Cyclones have a capable offense and the Oklahoma defense has lost some of its luster. Aside from giving up 48 to Kansas State, the Sooners also gave up 27 to Texas and 20 to a struggling Kansas team. Expect another Big 12 shootout in this one.
