Everett Golson Heisman Odds
TALLAHASSEE, FL (TheSpread) – Will the change of location to Florida State make Everett Golson a Heisman Trophy contender in 2015? Here is a breakdown of his chances.
According to the current oddsmakers, Golson is listed at 20/1 to win the 2015 Heisman Trophy. Currently, Ezekiel Elliott of Ohio State and Trevone Boykin of TCU are co-favorites at 7/1 while Nick Chubb of Georgia has 8/1 odds.
Golson played two full seasons at Notre Dame. As a freshman, he threw for 2,405 yards with 12 touchdowns and six interceptions while rushing for 298 yards and six scores. He missed his sophomore season due to a suspension, but return in 2014 and threw for 3,445 yards with 29 touchdowns and 14 interceptions while rushing for 283 yards and eight scores.
Following this season, Golson elected to transfer from Notre Dame and play for Florida State. He is eligible to play right away because he graduated prior to transferring. Golson is replacing former Heisman winner Jameis Winston, who left after this past season to be the No. 1 pick in the NFL Draft. Golson will have plenty of chances to succeed this season if he can make the throws. Winston proved that to be the case.
