According to the latest oddsmakers, Washington is heavily favored at home, as the Huskies are getting odds of -21.5 points against Hawaii. The over/under total for the contest is listed at 59 points. The public betting currently has 51 percent going on Hawaii as the road underdog. Hawaii seeking 3-0 start
Hawaii has gotten off to a 2-0 start thanks to a pair of wins over other Pac-12 teams, Arizona and Oregon State, at home. The Warriors are 1-1 against the spread while going 1-1 with the over/under total.
The Warriors are putting up big numbers on offense so far, averaging 38 points and 541.5 yards per game. Defensively, Hawaii is giving up 33 points and 485.5 yards per contest. Quarterback Cole McDonald is off to a great start to the year, as he has thrown for 799 yards and eight touchdowns. He does have five interceptions, though. Cedric Byrd II and JoJo Ward have combined for 35 receptions for 544 yards and nine touchdowns. Miles Reed is the leading rusher with 82 yards on 20 carries.
Huskies slip up against Cal
Washington is coming off a surprising 20-19 loss at home to Cal. The Huskies were a 13.5-point favorite coming into the game, dropping them to 1-1 overall and 1-1 against the spread. Washington has also split the total through two games.
Despite the loss last week, the Huskies have been a pretty good defensive team, allowing just 17 points and 288.5 yards per game thus far. Offensively, Washington is averaging 33 points and 459 yards per game. Jacob Eason has thrown for 511 yards and four touchdowns to lead the team while tight end Hunter Bryant has a team-high 10 catches for 121 yards. Salvon Ahmed is the leading rusher with 163 yards and two touchdowns.
College Football Betting Trends
Hawaii
The Warriors are 2-9-1 against the spread in their last 12 road games and 1-5-1 ATS in their last seven non-conference games.
Washington
The Huskies are just 3-8 ATS in their last 11 non-conference games and 2-6 ATS in their last eight against a winning team.
Prediction:
Hawaii has always been a tough team at home, but it has been another story when the Warriors go on the road. Hawaii is getting a tough draw by facing a Washington team that is coming off a bad loss at home. The Huskies should be amped up to get that loss out of their minds. Washington’s defense will pose a problem for the Hawaii passing game and I think the Huskies will break out on offense against this Hawaii defense. The Warriors haven’t stopped Arizona or Oregon State.
College Football Week 3 Prediction: Washington -21.5
