Georgia Bulldogs Game Notes
Georgia redshirt junior QB Stetson Bennett completed 14-of-20 passes for 255 yards and four touchdowns in Saturday’s 45-0 win over Georgia Tech. In this game, it was all Bulldogs as they put on another dominating performance on both sides of the ball. Bennett (5’11/190) came in to start earlier in the season when JT Daniels missed time with an injury, but he has played so well and hasn’t given the job back. This was more of a glorified practice game as they prepared for the SEC championship and Bennett put on a show. He had a career-high four passing touchdowns against a bad Yellow Jackets secondary, but his accuracy was the best it’s looked all the season, and the receivers were able to do well with their blocks allowing for more yards after the catch. Bennett may not have another game like this, but he doesn’t need to with the best defense in the country to back you up. Now Georgia prepares for their biggest test this season against Alabama in the SEC championship
Alabama Crimson Tide Game Notes
Alabama redshirt freshman QB Bryce Young may be the odds-on favorite for the Heisman Trophy, but he’s locked in on finishing the season strong, not chasing after awards. It would be shocking to see anyone other than Young (6’0/194) take home the Heisman Trophy following the 2021 season. But his sights aren’t set on accolades — though he has received and will continue to receive many of them. Young said Monday that “awards like the Heisman are just external factors and he’s not an external factor guy.” It will be interesting to see how much Young continues to impress as he faces a staunch Georgia team up next.
Georgia vs. Alabama SEC Championship Game Prediction
The over is 7-1-1 in the last nine meetings between these two teams, is 12-3 in the Crimson Tide’s last 15 games after allowing less than 275 total yards in their previous game and is 15-5-1 in Alabama’s last 21 games after allowing less than 170 yards passing in its previous contest. If there’s any team that can move the ball against Georgia’s historic defense, it’s ‘Bama.
SEC Championship Game Prediction: GEORGIA/ALABAMA OVER 49.5
