LSU looking like a contender
LSU improved to 5-0 on the season last weekend with a 42-6 win over Utah State. The Tigers come into this weekend’s game with a 1-0 mark in the SEC while going 4-1 against the spread and 4-1 with the over.
The Tigers have the nation’s top offense in terms of scoring, averaging 54.6 points and 571.2 yards per game. Defensively, LSU is giving up just 19.8 points and 289.6 yards per contest. Joe Burrow is a Heisman contender this season. He has thrown for 1,864 yards and 22 touchdowns while completing 78 percent of his passes. Justin Jefferson has 30 catches for 547 yards and seven touchdowns to lead the receivers while Clyde Edwards-Helaire is the leading rusher with 360 yards and five touchdowns.
Florida gets major win
Florida had its best win of the 2019 season last weekend, besting Auburn at home, 24-13. The Gators are now 6-0 on the season, 3-0 in the SEC, 3-3 against the spread and 5-1 with the under.
The Gators have one of the top defenses in the country this year, allowing 9.5 points and 281.5 yards per game. Offensively, Florida is putting up 32.3 points and 424.7 yards per contest. The team got a scare against Auburn as Kyle Trask suffered a knee injury, but he was able to return late in the game and seems to be okay to go tonight. He has thrown for 881 yards and seven touchdowns to lead the offense in place of Feleipe Franks, who is out for the year. Lamical Perine is leading the ground attack with 327 yards and four touchdowns while Freddie Swain has 14 catches for 280 yards and three scores. Jonathan Greenard is leading the defense with 26 tackles and four sacks.
College Football Betting Trends
LSU
LSU has covered the spread in four straight against winning teams and in six of their last seven overall.
Florida
The Gators are 10-3 against the spread in their last 13 games following a win and 5-2 ATS in their last seven road games.
Prediction:
Florida has won two of its last three against LSU, covering the spread in three straight as well. The Gators definitely impressed many with the win over Auburn at home last week, but Auburn doesn’t have the offense that LSU does. The Tigers are scoring at will and will be at home. While Florida has a good defense, I expect LSU to continue to find ways to score with its speed and tempo. The Florida offense just doesn’t have the ability to keep pace with LSU if the Tigers are clicking on offense.
College Football Week 7 Prediction: LSU -13.5
