LSU vs. Florida Pick
Two great defenses square off in Gainesville on Saturday at 12:00PM ET, but will LSU and Florida play under the total for bettors?
According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Tigers are 3-point road favorites versus the Gators after opening at that same number. The total, meanwhile, is currently sitting at 41 points after the over/under also opened at that same number.
LSU improved to 3-2 on the new season with a 42-7 romp over Missouri last Saturday night in Baton Rouge. That victory, as a 12-point home favorite, was the first time the Tigers covered in their five games in 2016. Despite Leonard Fournette rushing just three times for 12 yards, LSU still put together a dynamic rushing attack, one that gained 418 yards on 52 carries. Derrius Guice (17 carries, 163 yards, 3 touchdowns) and Darrel Williams (21 carries, 130 yards, 3 touchdowns) did most of the damage for the Tigers.
As for Florida, Vanderbilt gave the Gators all they could handle last weekend in Nashville. Staked as a 12-point favorite, Florida hung on for a 13-6 victory against the Commodores, improving the team’s record to 4-1 on the season. That said, it was the third consecutive game that the Gators failed to cover and the fourth time Florida has lost at the betting window in five tries in 2016.
OUR PICK: The under is 5-0 in the Tigers’ last five games overall, is 13-3 in their last 16 conference games, and is 4-1 in their last five road games. The under is also 6-2 in the Gators’ last eight home games, is 5-2 in their last seven games coming off a win, and is 8-2 in their last 10 games after they accumulated less than 100 yards rushing in their previous contest.
