Conference USA Championship Game North Texas vs. FAU Predictions 12/2/17

Conference USA Title Game Prediction

Will the Florida Atlantic Owls cap off their excellent season with a win and a cover versus North Texas in the Conference USA Championship Game at 12:00 p.m. ET?

ODDSMAKERS LIKE: Florida Atlantic. According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Owls are 12.5-point favorites to knock off the Mean Green, who opened as a 9-point underdog. As for the total, the number hit the board at 74.5 but has been bet down to 73.

Bet the Conference USA Championship Game

THE PUBLIC LIKES: Florida Atlantic. As of Saturday morning, the Owls were receiving just over 70% of the tickets at the betting window.

HISTORICAL TRENDS LIKE: Florida Atlantic and the under. In the last four meetings between these two teams, the home team is 4-0 against the spread. In the last five meetings, the under cashed four times.

WHO WE LIKE: FAU. Home field advantage has been critical in this title game in years past. The home team has gone 9-3 straight up and 8-4 against the spread in the last 12 Conference USA Championship games. Hosts are also on a 7-1 straight up and 6-2 ATS run.

The Owls are riding an eight-game winning streak in which they’ve scored 46 points per game. One of those wins came against North Texas back in October, when FAU routed the Mean Green 69-31 while compiling a season-high 804 yards. The Owls also own the nation’s No. 6 rushing attack and I just don’t see how the Mean Green slows down Lane Kiffin’s offense in this one.

FAU is 4-1 against the spread in its last five home games, is 6-2 against the number in its last eight games overall, and is a perfect 6-0 at the betting window in its last six games after accumulating more than 450 total yards in its previous game. North Texas, meanwhile, is just 1-7 against the spread in its last eight games after allowing less than 20 points in its previous contest.
