Memphis vs. Tulane Prediction
Will Memphis be able to go on the road and cover a double-digit spread against Tulane when the two meet up tonight at 8PM ET?
According to oddsmakers at BetDSI, Memphis is favored on the road, as the Tigers are getting odds of -10.5 points against the Green Wave. The over/under total for the contest has been set at 53 points. Memphis has won nine straight meetings with Tulane and the Tigers are 8-1 against the spread in those nine wins.
Memphis improved to 4-1 on the season last week with a 34-27 win over Temple. The Tigers are now 1-0 in the American Athletic Conference and 2-3 against the spread. The Tigers are relying heavily on their offense this season, as they are averaging 43.4 points and 446.2 yards per game. Riley Ferguson has thrown for 1,360 yards and 11 touchdowns to lead the offense while Doroland Dorceus has run for 346 yards and five touchdowns. Defensively, Memphis is only giving up 20.4 points, but allowing 403.2 total yards per game.
Tulane is coming off a 31-24 win over UMass on the road to improve to 3-2 on the season. The Green Wave are 0-1 in the AAC and 3-1-1 against the spread. Tulane has been led by its defense, which is giving up just 22.4 points and 309 yards per game. The Green Wave are allowing only 171.4 passing yards per game, which could pose a challenge to the Memphis passing attack. Offensively, Tulane is averaging 31 points and 349.8 yards per game. That has been led by its ground game, which is putting up 246.6 yards per contest. Five Tulane players have over 125 rushing yards this season, led by Dontrell Hilliard, who has 384 yards and five touchdowns. QB Glen Cuiellette has thrown for 472 yards and five touchdowns while rushing for 125 yards. He is battling a shoulder injury, but is probable to play.

Memphis has had no problems with Tulane for quite some time. The Green Wave not terribly strong on Fridays as well, going 0-9 against the spread in their last 9 Friday games. They are also just 1-8 ATS in their last 9 home games against a team with a winning road record. While Tulane has been tough against the pass, Memphis has thrown the ball effectively against better defenses already. The Tigers also should be able to keep the Green Wave offense from lightning them up. I expect a Memphis road cover tonight.
