Indiana vs. Ohio State Prediction
With a total not far from No. 2 Ohio State’s scoring average this season, is the over the clear play against Indiana today at 3:30PM ET on ESPN?
According to oddsmakers at BetDSI, Ohio State is the clear favorite in this game, as the Buckeyes are getting odds of -28 points against the Hoosiers. The over/under total for the contest is listed at 59 points. Ohio State hasn’t lost to Indiana in over a decade and the two have hit the over in three of their last five meetings.
Indiana is coming off a big 24-21 OT win over Michigan State last week to improve to 3-1 on the season and 1-0 in the Big Ten. The Hoosiers have hit the under in three of their four games, which is surprising considering they are averaging just under 500 yards per game. IU is only putting up 29 points per game however, as they have been unable to finish off drives. Richard Lagow has thrown for 1,278 yards and nine touchdowns to lead the offense while Devine Redding has run for 413 yards on the ground. The IU defense has shown improvement this year, holding opponents to 21.8 points and 373 yards per game, but they also haven’t been tested by an offense like Ohio State.
The Buckeyes are coming off a 58-0 win over Rutgers last week to improve to 4-0 on the season and 1-0 in the Big Ten. Ohio State is just 2-2 with the over/under total but that is largely due to its defense. The Buckeyes are giving up just 9.3 points and 237.8 yards per game this season. They also are holding opponents to just 140.3 passing yards per game. On offense, Ohio State is putting up an impressive 57 points and 576.3 yards per game. They have 1,328 rushing yards in four games with Mike Weber leading the way. He has 495 yards and two scores. J.T. Barrett has thrown for 888 yards and 14 touchdowns while rushing for 205 yards and three scores.

Ohio State is going to score, and score a lot. I would pencil in the Buckeyes for a good 45 points, which is the minimum they have scored this season. So, that means Indiana has to score 14 points. I think the Hoosiers can do that. Despite the Buckeyes having a great defense, IU has been able to move the ball on them in the past. I think the over hits. Ohio State could hit it on its own.
