Bruins poised to get well against Wildcats
A week ago, UCLA suffered a heartbreaking defeat against Stanford. Will Jim Mora’s gang be able to recover tonight vs. Arizona?
Oddsmakers like the Bruins’ chances. Several hours before kickoff, online sports book BetsDSI lists them as 13.5-point favorites entering the affair. The over/under is 58.5.

Despite leading for the better part of 59 minutes, UCLA allowed the Cardinal to rally for a 22-13 victory in the waning stages of last Saturday’s showdown in the Rose Bowl. Yet it was generally a fantastic defensive performance, especially considering Heisman Trophy candidate Christian McCaffrey could only muster an average-by-his-standards performance.
The Wildcats don’t have anyone in the same universe as McCaffrey. In fact, they’re struggling to fill out a backfield depth chart right now. Nick Wilson went down in the third tilt of the campaign vs. Hawaii, while understudy J.J. Taylor got knocked out of the Washington contest. Things are so dire that wide receiver Tyrell Johnson’s attempting to transition to tailback.

Mora and his D certainly won’t object. As for the offense, quarterback Josh Rosen continues to gain a better and better grasp of coordinator Kennedy Polamalu’s pro-style system. Still, the Bruins would love to more balance in the form of improved production from RB Soso Jamabo.
Since Mora’s arrival on campus in 2012, UCLA boasts a 4-0 record vs. Arizona. Expect that trend to keep favoring the host school at the end of the evening. We’ll bank on a fairly high number of points, too.
