According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Hurricanes are 3-point road favorites versus the Seminoles, who hit the board as a 1-point favorite before the line jumped the fence. As for the total, the number currently sits at 45.5 after it opened at 47.5 earlier this week.

Miami Betting Trends

The Hurricanes are a perfect 5-0 against the spread in their last five conference games, are 7-1 against the number in their last eight games overall, and are 5-2 against the spread in their last seven road games. Where they have struggled to cover is in the month of October, going winless at 0-4 against the spread in their last four games played this month.

Florida State Betting Trends

The Seminoles are 5-0 against the spread in their last five games following a win, are 3-1-1 against the spread in their last five games versus a team with a winning record, and are 11-5 against the spread in their last 16 games played on grass. They’re also 1-4 against the spread in their last five games after accumulating less than 275 total yards in their previous game.

OUR PREDICTION: Outside of a solid win against Duke last week, Miami hasn’t been tested this season. Still, the Hurricanes look outstanding on both sides of the ball. They’re averaging 41.3 points per game offensively and are allowing just 16.3 PPG on defense. Quarterback Malik Rosier is completing 65.6 percent of his passes and is becoming more confident in Mark Richt’s offense by the week. Florida State, meanwhile, has struggled offensively with freshman quarterback James Blackman under center. The Seminoles have scored just three touchdowns on their 12 trips inside the red zone this season and while their defense will keep things close throughout, I like Miami to find a way in the second half to pull away and end its losing streak to FSU.
