CFB Playoff Matchup Odds
The field for the 2018 College Football Playoffs have been set and the two semifinal matchups have been announced. Here’s a look at the opening odds for the playoff games.
The first of two playoff games will be the Goodyear Cotton Bowl, which features No. 2 Clemson taking on No. 3 Notre Dame on Dec. 29 at 4PM ET from AT&T Stadium. According to oddsmakers at BetNow.eu, Clemson is the clear favorite in this game, as the Tigers are getting odds of -11.5 points against the Irish. The over/under total is opening at 55 points. Both teams were unbeaten this year. Notre Dame went 12-0 and was 7-4-1 against the spread. Clemson was 13-0 and 7-6 against the spread. These two last met in 2015, where Clemson got a 24-22 victory.
The second playoff game is the Capital One Orange Bowl where No. 1 Alabama takes on No. 4 Oklahoma on Dec. 29 at 8PM ET from Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, Florida. Oddsmakers are listing Alabama as a 14-point favorite against the Sooners. The over/under total is currently listed at 79.5 points. Oklahoma went 12-1 on the season and 5-7-1 against the spread. Alabama went 13-0 on the year and 8-5 against the spread. Oklahoma has actually won its last three meetings with the Tide, including a bowl game in 2014.
