According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Bears are now 3.5-point road favorites versus the Longhorns after opening as a 2.5-point favorite earlier this week. As for the total, the number hit the board at 69 but has jumped all the way up to 74, which is where it sits now.

Baylor has won four of the last six meetings in this series but Texas pulled off the upset last year in Waco, beating the No. 12 Bears on their home turf. Baylor won two years ago in Austin and is seeking its first two-game win streak there since 1989-91.
The Bears have started 6-0 each of their last four seasons and are the only FBS team to have done so over that span. The Longhorns, meanwhile, are 3-4 through seven games for the third consecutive season, which has head coach Charlie Strong on the hot seat. Prior to that stretch, Texas had not been under .500 through seven games for three straight seasons since 1954-56.

OUR PREDICTION: The Bears have racked up a 6-0 record against weak competition. Their only impressive win came at home versus Oklahoma State, a 35-24 victory as a 7-point favorite. That said, Texas is going to have trouble keeping up with quarterback Seth Russell, who improved to 14-0 as a starter for Baylor in the Bears’ win over Kansas two weeks ago. The Longhorns are allowing 263.1 passing yards per game this season, which ranks 103rd in the nation. They’re also allowing 32.6 points per game, which ranks 100th in the country. Baylor hasn’t been tested, but its still the most dominant team in the Big 12 and should get past the inconsistent Longhorns this afternoon.
