Coastal Carolina Game Notes
Coastal Carolina redshirt freshman QB Grayson McCall completed 20-of-29 passes for 322 yards and four touchdowns with one interception in Saturday’s 52-23 win over Arkansas State. McCall (6’3/195) continues to shine for the Chanticleers, who are now 3-0 on the season. In addition to his work in the passing game, the redshirt freshman rushed for another 44 yards on 17 carries. After completing just over 61 percent of his pass attempts in the Chanticleers’ season-opening win over Kansas, McCall has hit 69 percent in each of his last two games.
UL Lafayette Game Notes
Louisiana senior RB Elijah Mitchell (COVID-19 restrictions) is listed on the depth chart released ahead of Wednesday’s game vs. Coastal Carolina. Mitchell (5’11/218) was one of the starters who was not listed on the depth chart released ahead of the Ragin’ Cajuns’ September 26 win over Georgia Southern, with COVID-19 restrictions being the reason why. Whether that means the senior running back tested positive or was subject to contact tracing measures remains unknown, but as of Sunday (when the updated two-deep was released) he is back in the fold. Louisiana is still awaiting the results of its most recent round of testing, so hopefully Mitchell and the other starters that were held out of the team’s most recent game get the all clear. Trey Ragas would get the start if Mitchell is unable to go Wednesday night.
