Wisconsin dominates South Florida
Wisconsin may have looked as good as any team in college football last week, as the Badgers picked up a 49-0 victory at South Florida last Friday. Wisconsin was just a 10-point favorite going into the game and it went under the 58-point total in the victory.
The Badgers absolutely dominated the Bulls, as they held USF to just 157 total yards and 26 rushing yards. Offensively, Wisconsin had 435 total yards, including 234 on the ground. Jonathan Taylor had a great start to his Heisman campaign, as he rushed for 135 yards and two touchdowns on 16 carries while also catching two passes for 48 yards and two more scores. New starting QB Jack Coan was efficient under center, as he threw for 201 yards and two scores on 19 of 26 passing.
Central Michigan grabs a win
The Central Michigan football team opened its 2019 season under new coach Jim McElwain with a 38-21 victory at home over Albany. The Chippewas were a 14-point favorite for the contest and they went over the 45-point total.
CMU won just one game last season, so a win of any kind was a positive. The Chippewas outgained Albany 529-244 in the victory, as they had 285 rushing yards while holding Albany just 45 yards on the ground. CMU did commit three turnovers, which kept the game closer than it needed to be. Jonathan Ward led the team with 158 rushing yards and two touchdowns while quarterback Quinten Dormady threw for 285 yards and three touchdowns. Tyrone Scott added five receptions for 93 yards and two touchdowns.
College Football Betting Trends
Wisconsin
The Badgers have hit the under in six of their last seven overall and in four of their last five non-conference games.
Central Michigan
CMU has hit the over in eight of their last 11 games against Big Ten opponents and in six straight following a win.
Prediction:
Wisconsin should be able to dominate the Chippewas today, but I don’t expect an over here. The Badgers should really control the CMU offense, which was a disaster last year and likely to struggle in the early stages of the season. The Chippewas have been a pretty good defensive team in recent years, so I don’t expect Wisconsin to put up 50 points either. The Badgers should have steady control of the ball and clock and make this game a breeze.
