No. 23 Virginia Tech will look to run its record to 3-1 over unranked Boston College but the Eagles have been competitive to start the season. Will the Hokies cover as a 13-point home favorite or will the Eagles keep the game close throughout?

Boston College Eagles Game Notes
Boston College QB Phil Jurkovec completed 19-of-35 passes for 358 yards and three touchdowns in a 31-30 overtime win over Pitt on Saturday. Jurkovec (6’5/226) posted his third, 300-yard game in four contests as he hooked up on scoring passes three times with electric WR Zay Flowers. The last of which being a 25-yard touchdown strike to put BC up 31-24 in overtime that ended up being the game-winning touchdown. The former five-star Notre Dame transfer has taken to new OC Frank Cignetti’s offense like a fish-to-water as the underrated Eagles quietly improve to 3-1 on the year. He travels to Blacksburg to face ACC rival Virginia Tech next Saturday.
Virginia Tech Hokies Game Notes
Virginia Tech redshirt junior QB Hendon Hooker said on Tuesday that he’s unsure if HC Justin Fuente will rotate quarterbacks for Saturday’s game vs. Boston College. Hooker (6’4/220) was announced as the starter for Saturday’s game by Fuente on Monday, moving into the role previously held by redshirt junior Braxton Burmeister. Whether or not that means Hooker will be the sole quarterbacks used remains to be seen, with the redshirt junior himself saying that he’s unsure if Fuente will use both. Given the lack of a firm commitment to one or the other in the Hokies’ first three games, it would not be a surprise if Burmeister still figured in the offensive game plan in some capacity.
Boston College vs. Virginia Tech Betting Prediction
The Eagles have been profitable in this series, cashing in seven of the previous nine meetings with the Hokies. Boston College is also 20-5-1 against the spread in its last 26 conference games, has covered in 13 of its last 18 road games and is 18-7-1 at the betting window in its last 26 games as an underdog. Meanwhile, the Hokies are just 1-4 against the number in their last five games overall and failed to cover in 11 of the last 15 times they were favored. They’re also just 2-6 at the betting window in their last eight games played in the month of October.
