Boise State junior QB Hank Bachmeier completed 11-of-22 pases for 146 yards, one touchdown and one interception in Saturday’s 37-0 win against New Mexico. Bachmeier (6’1/210) did put up any eye-popping numbers, but he didn’t really have to. He simply needed to hand the ball off and let the runners do the work, as the Broncos racked up 239 rushing yards with a touchdown on 44 attempts, good for 5.4 yards per carry. Bachmeier and the Broncos look for win No. 8 on the road against the rank San Diego State Aztecs at Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson, Calif.
San Diego State Aztecs Game Notes
San Diego State senior QB Lucas Johnson completed 21-of-34 passes for 176 yards, one touchdown and no interceptions in Saturday’s 23-21 win against Nevada. Johnson (6’3″/210) hasn’t really done a lot lately, as far as statistics are concerned, but the Aztecs are also an impressive 9-1 overall, with a 5-1 record in the Mountain West. The good news is that Johnson isn’t making a bunch of silly miscues to cost his team. He also rushed six times for 14 yards, and the Aztecs were able to pile up 189 rushing yards and a score on 4.9 yards per attempt, taking pressure off the pass game. Next up is a trip to UNLV next Friday.
