UNLV on a skid
UNLV opened the season with a win, but the Rebels have lost three straight since. That includes a 53-17 loss at Wyoming last weekend. UNLV is 1-3 overall, 0-1 in the MWC, 2-2 against the spread and 2-2 with the over/under total.
The Rebels are struggling on both sides of the football. The offense is producing just 26 points and 376 yards per game while the defense is allowing 37.2 points and 444.5 yards per outing. UNLV has been using two quarterbacks this year in Armani Rogers and Kenyon Oblad. Rogers has thrown for 393 yards and two touchdowns while rushing for 204 yards and two scores. Oblad has 305 passing yards with a TD. Rogers is questionable to play tonight due to a knee injury. Charles Williams is leading the offense with 472 rushing yards and six touchdowns while Randal Grimes has 14 catches for 175 yards and a score.
Boise State still unbeaten
Boise State is off to a 4-0 start to the season thanks to a 30-19 win over Air Force two weeks ago. The Broncos are 1-0 in the Mountain West Conference, 3-1 against the spread and 2-2 with the over/under total.
Boise State has a top 25 offense and defense this season. The Broncos are holding opponents to 16.8 points and 299.2 yards per game. Offensively, Boise is putting up 31.2 points and 476 yards per contest. Quarterback Hank Bachmeier is leading the team with 1,190 passing yards and six touchdowns. Robert Malone has 288 rushing yards and four touchdowns while CT Thomas has 14 catches for 283 yards and three scores. The defense is being led by Curtis Weaver, who has 17 tackles and six sacks.
College Football Betting Trends
UNLV
The Rebels are 3-7 ATS in their last 10 games in October and 3-7 ATS int heir last 10 conference games.
Boise State
The Broncos are 10-3-1 against the spread in their last 14 road games and 6-0-1 ATS in their last seven against a losing team.
Prediction:
Boise State has won the last four against UNLV, but the Rebels have covered the spread in three of those four games. The Broncos have looked good, but have had to grind out wins for the most part. UNLV has lost three straight by at least 16 and I think tonight will be worse. The Rebels just don’t have the ability to match Boise’s physicality tonight. The Broncos should be able to control possession and stop the mundane UNLV offense. I will go with the Broncos to get the cover on the road.
