Auburn bounces back
The Auburn football team bounced back from its first loss of the season last weekend when the Tigers won at Arkansas, 51-10. Auburn is now 6-1 on the season, 3-1 in the SEC, 6-1 against the spread and 4-3 with the over.
Auburn has been led by a pretty sound defense that is giving up just 17.1 points and 319 yards per game. Offensively, the Tigers are putting up 36.3 points and 433.7 yards per game. Freshman QB Bo Nix has thrown for 1,301 yards and 11 touchdowns this season while also rushing for 210 yards and three scores. JaTarvious Whitlow has been the leading rusher with 544 yards and seven scores, but is out this week with a knee injury. Seth Williams is the team’s top receiver with 25 catches for 458 yards and seven touchdowns.
LSU keeps rolling along
The LSU Tigers are coming off a 36-13 win at Mississippi State last week to improve to 7-0 on the season. LSU is 3-0 in the SEC while putting up a 5-2 mark against the spread. They are 5-2 with the over.
LSU has one of the top offenses in the nation, averaging 50.1 points and 540 yards per game. Defensively, the Tigers are giving up 20 points and 320.7 yards per contest. Joe Burrow is leading the team this season with 2,484 passing yards and 29 touchdowns with just three interceptions. Justin Jefferson is his top receiver with 48 catches for 759 yards and nine touchdowns. Clyde Edwards-Helaire is the leading rusher with 547 yards and seven touchdowns. JaCoby Stevens is leading the defense with 38 tackles, two sacks and two interceptions.
College Football Betting Trends
Auburn
The Tigers are 5-2 with the over in their last seven games on grass and in seven of their last 10 games in October.
LSU
The Tigers are 7-2-1 with the over in their last 10 games and 5-1 with the over in their last six games following a win of more than 20 points.
Prediction:
LSU has won three of the last four in this series and these two have hit the over in four straight meetings in Baton Rouge. The total is being set awfully low for an LSU team that is unstoppable on offense. The Tigers have scored at least 36 points in every game this year and at least 42 in every home game. Auburn has a good defense, but the Tigers have given up points to the likes of Mississippi State and Texas A&M. They haven’t faced an offense like LSU, and I think they are in for a rude awakening on Saturday.
