Razorbacks treading water
Arkansas is riding a three-game losing streak following a 24-20 loss at Kentucky last weekend. The Razorbacks are now 2-4 on the season, 0-3 in the SEC, 2-4 against the spread and 5-1 with the under.
The Razorbacks are giving up 27.3 points and 400.8 yards per game on defense this year while putting up 27.2 points and 410.7 yards per contest on offense. Rakeem Boyd has been leading the offense with 617 rushing yards and five touchdowns while Nick Starkel has thrown for 1,060 yards and seven touchdowns, but also has seven interceptions. Trey Knox is leading the team in receiving with 23 catches for 323 yards and two touchdowns.
Auburn gets a bye week
The Tigers had a bye week last week, but are coming off a 24-13 loss at Florida two weeks ago for their first defeat of the year. Auburn is 5-1 on the season, 2-1 in the SEC, 5-1 against the spread and 3-3 with the over/under total.
Auburn has held up well on defense despite a strong schedule. The Tigers are giving up just 18.3 points and 333.2 yards per game this year. Offensively, Auburn is putting up 33.8 points and 424.2 yards per contest. The team has lost JaTarvious Whitlow for multiple weeks. The back had rushed for 544 yards and seven touchdowns this year, but has a knee injury. Quarterback Bo Nix has thrown for 1,125 yards and eight touchdowns while rushing for 191 yards and two scores. Seth Williams is his leading receiver with 21 catches for 368 yards and five touchdowns.
College Football Betting Trends
Arkansas
The Razorbacks are 7-3 against the spread in their last 10 games following a loss and 16-6 ATS in their last 22 home games against a team with a winning road record.
Auburn
The Tigers are 6-1 against the spread in their last seven overall and 8-2 ATS in their last 10 against a losing team.
Prediction:
The Tigers have been dominating this series, winning and covering in five of the last six meetings. The last three meetings have saw Auburn win by a combined score of 142-26. My concern for the Tigers is that their offense is still somewhat unproven and going to be without its leading rusher. Nix has still been making some freshman mistakes and that could keep this game somewhat competitive. Arkansas has seen all of its losses come by 14 points or less, with three of them coming by single digits. I think, at home, Arkansas is going to find a way to keep this competitive.
