Alabama Crimson Tide Game Notes
Alabama redshirt freshman QB Bryce Young completed 20-of-26 passes for 241 yards, two touchdowns and an interception in Saturday’s 42-21 win over Ole Miss. Young averaged 9.3 YPA in the dominant win. He didn’t have to do much heavy-lifting in the second half, as the Tide had cruised to a 28-0 halftime lead. The runner-up to Matt Corral on last week’s Heisman board, Young is going to be re-installed as the favorite to win the award on Sunday. The Crimson Tide travel to Texas A&M next weekend. That will already be Alabama’s third game against a ranked team away from home.
Texas A&M Aggies Game Notes
Texas A&M sophomore QB Zach Calzada completed 12-of-20 passes for 135 yards, a touchdown, an interception and a rushing touchdown in the Aggies 20-10 loss to Arkansas. Calzada (6’3″/190) now has thrown for under 200 yards and an interception in three of four starts this year. His touchdown came when he hit Jalen Wydermyer in the right corner for the 11 yards. His 25-yard rushing touchdown near the end of the third quarter gave the Aggies some life as it got them within three points. The A&M offensive line continues to do him wrong. He was sacked in this game three times for a loss of 29 yards, he’s been sacked 13 times this season. It will not get easier for the Aggies as they host Alabama next week.
Ohio State vs. Minnesota Betting Prediction
The Crimson Tide are 5-2 against the spread in their last seven games versus the Aggies, are 4-0 against the number in their last four games played in October and are 11-4 ATS in their last 15 games overall. On the other side, the Aggies are just 11-23 at the betting window in their last 34 games played in October and are 9-22 against the spread in their last 31 games following a loss.
