Alabama Crimson Tide Game Notes
Alabama redshirt freshman QB Bryce Young threw for 369 yards and three scores with an interception on 28-of-48 passing in a 41-38 loss on Saturday to Texas A&M. Young (6’0/194) was able to put up big numbers again, but it comes in his first loss as a starter for the Crimson Tide. It’s also worth noting that this could have been a monster game for the redshirt freshman if not for some uncharacteristic dropped passes, including one that should have gone for a touchdown. That being said, this was the worst that Young has played this year, but it should have been enough for a win. It was not. Alabama will likely take out some frustrations against Mississippi State next Saturday.
Mississippi State Bulldogs Game Notes
Mississippi State sophomore QB Will Rogers has been named SEC Offensive Player of the Week. Mississippi State quarterback Will Rogers seemed to turn the corner this weekend and he’s garnered no shortage of recognition for it after the Bulldogs defeated the Texas A&M Aggies, 26-22 on the road this past weekend. Rogers was named SEC Offensive Player of the Week following a performance in which he completed 46-of-59 passes for 408 yards with three touchdowns and zero interceptions. With this, he’s now completed 75.7% of his passes for 1,862 yards with 14 touchdowns and two interceptions this season.
