As for the over/under, the number hit the board at 54 but it too has already been bet down, dropping all the way to 51.5 at the majority of online and Vegas sports books. These two teams combined for 85 points in last year’s national championship game, but Alabama’s defense ranks No. 1 in the country in total yards allowed, No. 1 in rushing yards allowed, and is No. 1 in points allowed while surrendering 11.4 PPG so oddsmakers can’t make the total too high.
