According to oddsmakers from online sports book GT Bets, Nebraska is a 6.5-point home favorite over BYU after opening as a 5-point favorite, while the total is sitting at 61.5 after opening at 64.5.
The over is 5-1 in the Cougars’ last six road games, 8-2 in their last 10 games overall and 8-2 in their last 10 non-conference games. The over is also 4-1 in the Cornhuskers’ last five non-conference games and 5-2 in their last seven games overall.
Nebraska suspended six players for today’s game, including linebacker Michael Rose Ivey, defensive back Jonathan Rose and defensive end Joe Keels. The only starter in the group is Rose-Ivey, who was viewed as a player that would provide a huge boost for the Huskers’ defense. Nebraska had few proven linebackers entering the season as it is, so losing Rose-Ivey was a blow.
BYU averaged 37.1 points per game last season, which was good for 14th nationally. Points shouldn’t be an issue for the Cougars or the Huskers today.
