The season officially kicks off on Thursday with a solid meeting as No. 9 South Carolina plays host to No. 21 Texas A&M at 9PM ET (View Matchup). According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, South Carolina is the clear favorite in this game, as the Gamecocks have odds of -10.5 points against A&M. The over/under total for the game is listed at 58 points. Both teams have question marks coming in, as each team will be breaking in new quarterbacks. The matchup will be about the South Carolina defense against the Texas A&M offense. Despite being in the SEC, these two haven’t met since the Aggies joined a few seasons ago. South Carolina is 4-1 against the spread in its last five home games while A&M is 2-9 ATS in its last 11 games on Thursday nights.

The other featured game of Week 1 has No. 14 Wisconsin meeting No. 13 LSU at 9PM ET from NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas (View Matchup). According to oddsmakers, LSU is favored in this game, as the Tigers have odds of -4.5 points against the Badgers. The over/under total is being listed at 50.5 points. This is a big game for the Big Ten, as a win over LSU would help the overall perception of the conference as they try to strengthen their case for a spot in the four-team playoff at the end of the season. Wisconsin is 4-1 against the spread in its last five non-conference games while LSU is just 2-5 ATS in its last seven non-conference meetings.
