Updated NCAAF Playoff Odds
LAS VEGAS, NV (The Spread) – Oddsmakers have updated the odds for teams to make the four-team playoff in college football next year and the odds are in Florida State’s favor.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Seminoles are 2/7 to make the four-team playoff this upcoming college football season and 9/4 to come up short. Among all the teams listed, Florida State has the best odds of making the playoffs. That includes Alabama, which is 5/4 to make the postseason and 20/33 to miss the four-team playoffs.
Oregon also has favorable odds to make the playoffs at 10/11 and have 10/13 odds to miss the postseason. Ohio State has the best odds among all of the Big Ten teams at 20/21 to make the playoffs and 20/27 to miss the final four, while Oklahoma has the best odds in the Big 12 at 17/10 to make the postseason and 2/5 to miss the field.
After losing to FSU in the final BCS national title game, Auburn has 17/10 odds to make the playoffs and 2/5 to miss the final four, while LSU is 23/10 to make the postseason and 5/18 to miss the field. UCLA, meanwhile, is 12/5 to make the playoffs and 5/19 to miss the postseason altogether.
Will Michigan State make the four-team playoff in college football next year? They don’t have favorable odds at 9/4 to make the postseason and 2/7 to miss the field. Georgia has similar odds at 5/2 to make the playoffs and 1/4 to miss the postseason. South Carolina is also 4/1 to make the playoffs and 1/6 to miss the field, while Florida is a 6/1 long shot to make the four-team playoff and 1/10 to miss the postseason.
Finally, Baylor is 3/1 to make the four-team playoff format and 1/5 to miss the postseason, while USC is 6/1 to make the field and 1/12 to be on the outside looking in.
