The Sooners turned in their third win of the season with a 34-10 victory over Tennessee last Saturday. Oklahoma defensive back Julian Wilson returned an interception 100 yards for a touchdown to seal the win for the Sooners, while quarterback Trevor Knight had two touchdowns (one rushing and one passing) and threw for 308 yards.

Following their narrow 33-23 loss to Alabama in their season opener, the Mountaineers have turned in back-to-back wins against Towson (54-0) and Maryland (40-37). In their win over the Terps last Saturday, quarterback Clint Trickett completed 37-of-49 passes for 511 yards with four touchdowns and one interception. Running back Rushel Shell also rushed for 98 yards and a touchdown on 27 carries while receiver Kevin White caught 13 passes for 216 yards and a touchdown. Fellow wideout Mario Alford also caught 11 passes for 131 yards and two touchdowns.

According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, Oklahoma is a 7.5-point road favorite over West Virginia, while the over/under total is currently sitting at 65.5 points. The Sooners opened as 11-point favorites but the spread has dropped down significantly, while the total opened at 62 and has been bet up.
