Boise State vs. Ole Miss Free Pick
ATLANTA, GA (The Spread) – Non-conference foes will meet tonight in the Georgia Dome when Boise State faces Ole Miss at 8:00PM ET.

According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, Ole Miss is currently listed as a 10.5-point favorite over Boise State, while the over/under total has been bet down to 51.5. The Rebels opened as 9.5-point favorites but the line has climbed to 10.5 while the line movement on the total has favored the under, as bettors have pushed the number down from 56 to 51.5.
Most of the focus tonight is on Ole Miss, which is ranked 19th coming into the season and is expected to be a potential sleepr in the SEC West. Senior quarterback Bo Wallace returns as one of the fewer veteran signal-callers in the SEC this year and is coming off a season in which he threw for 3,346 yards and 18 touchdowns. He’s also surrounded by plenty of talent, specifically sophomore receiver Laquon Treadwell and junior running backs I’Tavius Mathers and Jaylen Walton.
Meanwhile, the Broncos will play their first game under new coach Bryan Harsin, who replaced the extremely popular and highly successful Chris Peterson, who took the Washington job. At least Harsin benefits from having a senior at quarterback, as Grant Hedrick threw 16 touchdown passes a year ago against just five interceptions. Matt Miller and Jay Ajayi also return to a decent Boise State offense.
COLLEGE FOOTBALL WEEK 1 FREE PICK: Take Boise State. The Broncos will look to get off to a fast start to the 2014 season under Harsin, who has plenty to prove while trying to fill the shoes of Peterson. The Broncos are 6-2 against the spread in their last eight neutral site games and 4-1 against the number in their last five Thursday games. They generally play well in the season opener and even though they’re unranked for the first time since 2008, they’ve also been a solid underdog play.
