According to oddsmakers from Bodog, Alabama is favored to win the SEC West with odds of 2/3. Other short odds to win are LSU (2/1) and Arkansas (5/1).
Alabama has won the West Division seven times in program history. The last title came in 2009. The Crimson Tide is in its fifth season with Nick Saban. Alabama was 10-3 last season and 5-3 in the SEC. This season, Alabama has 19 starters returning, including 10 on defense.
LSU has won the division title four times in program history. The last championship came in 2007. The Tigers were 11-2 last season and 6-2 in conference play. Les Miles enters his seventh season with the Tigers and he has 15 starters back for 2011.
Arkansas has three division titles to its credit, the last of which came in 2006. The Razorbacks went 10-3 last season and 6-2 in SEC play. Bobby Petrino is in his fourth season as coach of Arkansas and he has 15 starters back, including running back Knile Davis, who rushed for 1,322 yards and 13 touchdowns in 2010.
