According to oddsmakers from Bodog, Florida is favored to win the SEC East with odds of 5/4. Other short odds to win are Georgia (8/5) and South Carolina (9/4).

Florida has won the SEC East 10 times since 1992, more than any team in the division. The Gators came up shy last year, finishing 4-4 in conference play while going 8-5 overall. This season, Florida has a new coach in Will Muschamp, who is making his head coaching debut. Muschamp returns 10 starters from last year’s Florida team.

Georgia has won the East title three times since 1992. The last division crown came in 2005. Georgia was 3-5 in SEC play last season and 6-7 overall. Mark Richt returns for his 11th season with the Bulldogs this season and he brings back 14 starters, including quarterback Aaron Murray, who threw for 3,049 yards and 24 touchdowns in 2010.

South Carolina is the defending East Division champion. The Gamecocks were 5-4 in conference play and 9-5 overall. The Gamecocks are in their seventh season with head coach Steve Spurrier. The team has a number of key skill players, including receiver Alshon Jeffrey, who caught 88 passes for 1,517 yards and nine touchdowns in 2010.
