2011 PAC 12 Championship Odds

(The Spread) – The PAC 10 has now expanded to the PAC 12 for the 2011 college football season. Here is a look at the odds to win this year’s newly expanded conference.

According to oddsmakers from Bodog, Oregon and Stanford are the favorites to win the conference with odds of 8/5. Arizona State has 7/2 odds to win the conference as well. Keep in mind that USC is part of the conference but ineligible to win the conference due to current penalty from NCAA infractions.

Oregon won the conference title last year, going 9-0 and 12-1 overall. The Ducks have won the title 9 times in program history and they return speedy running back, LaMichael James, who rushed for 1,622 yards and 21 touchdowns last season.

Stanford went 8-1 in conference play and 12-1 overall last year. The Cardinal has won 12 conference titles in school history, with the last coming in 2004. Stanford lost coach Jim Harbaugh to the NFL, but retains stud quarterback Andrew Luck, who threw for 3,338 yards and 32 touchdowns last season.

Arizona State was 6-6 last year and 4-5 in conference play. The Sun Devils have won 3 conference titles in program history, the last coming in 2007. The Sun Devils don’t have a clear offensive superstar but their special teams was very strong last season, racking up three kickoff returns for TD’s.
