According to oddsmakers from Bodog, the Sooners have 7/2 odds to win the BCS National Championship. Oklahoma also has 2/5 odds to win the Big 12 title and over/under odds of 10 wins for the season.
Oklahoma is coming off a 12-2 season in 2010 in which it won the Big 12 Championship, the 43rd conference title in program history. The Sooners suffered losses to Missouri and Texas A&M by a combined 23 points.
This season, Oklahoma returns a total of 18 starters, led by quarterback Landry Jones. As a sophomore, Jones threw for 4,718 yards and 38 touchdowns with 12 interceptions. This season, Jones is one of the front runners to win the Heisman Trophy, as he has 13/2 odds to win. Another favorite is senior receiver Ryan Broyles, who caught 131 passes for 1,622 yards and 14 touchdowns in 2010. Broyles has 15/1 odds to win the Heisman. Oddsmakers are also showing love for running back Roy Finch. He will be the primary back for the Sooners after rushing for just 398 yards and two scores in 2010. He has 30/1 odds to win the Heisman Trophy.
In 2011, Oklahoma has a competitive schedule, opening against Tulsa at home while also heading to Florida State on Sept. 17. The conference schedule features the annual rivalry game with Texas as well as road trips to Kansas State and Oklahoma State. Oklahoma has won at least 11 games in eight of the last 10 seasons. Only three times in the 12 seasons that Bob Stoops has been the head coach has Oklahoma failed to win at least 11 games.
