MOBILE, AL (TheSpread) – It isn’t a marquee matchup, but the 2011 GoDaddy.com Bowl takes place on Thursday night with Miami (Ohio) taking on Middle Tennessee State at 8PM ET.

Miami is 9-4 on the season and 8-5 against the point spread odds while Middle Tennessee State is 6-6 overall and just 4-8 against the spread. The two teams have combined to hit the over just four times in 24 lined games. Trends show that Miami is 4-1 ATS in their last five games while Middle Tennessee State is 1-4 ATS in its last 5 non-conference games.

Since, the odds have favored the Blue Raiders and they are now 2.5-point favorites. The over/under total opened at 48.5 points and has since climbed to 49.5.
Miami won its last five games of the season, including the Mid-American Conference championship over Northern Illinois. The RedHawks average just 20.5 points per game and give up 23.4 points per game, but their team got better as the season went on. Leading the way is quarterback Zac Dysert, who has thrown for 2,406 yards and 13 touchdowns and is elusive in the pocket.
Middle Tennessee State won its last three games of the season to become bowl eligible. The Blue Raiders average 26.9 points per game on offense while giving up 27.5 points per game on defense. The team has been led by running back Phillip Tanner, who has rushed for 804 yards and 11 touchdowns.
In terms of injuries, neither team has a player listed on the injury report.
