SAN DIEGO, CA (TheSpread) – No. 17 Nebraska faces a team it has already beaten handily when it takes on Washington in the 2010 Holiday Bowl on Thursday.

Nebraska is 10-3 on the season and 6-7 against the point spread odds while Washington is 6-6 on the season and 6-6 against the spread. Trends show that both teams are 4-1 against the point spread odds in their last 5 bowl games.

Opening odds had Nebraska favored by 13 points. The spread climbed to 14 points before settling in at 13.5. The over/under total opened at 52.5 points and then climbed to 53.

Nebraska defeated Washington 56-21 on Sept. 18 of this season. The Huskers had 533 yards of offense in the win while holding Washington to 246 yards. Huskie quarterback Jake Locker had just 71 yards on 4-of-20 passing with two interceptions. Nebraska finished the season losing two of their last three, both by just three points. Nebraska averages 32.7 points per game on offense while holding opponents to just 17.2 points per game. The Huskers have a strong rushing attack, as the team averages 259.6 yards per game rushing. Roy Helu Jr. has rushed for 1,211 yards and 11 touchdowns on the season while quarterback Taylor Martinez has thrown for 1,578 yards and rushed for 942 yards with 12 scores.

Washington struggled at times this season but won its last three games of the season. The team has come and gone as Locker has played. Coming into the year he was expected to be the top NFL prospect, but he has thrown for just 2,209 yards with 17 touchdowns and 9 interceptions while completing only 56 percent of his passes. As a team, Washington is averaging 22.1 points per game on offense while giving up 31.2 points per contest.

In terms of injuries, Nebraska backup quarterback Zac Lee is questionable with a wrist injury while Washington cornerback Quinton Richardson is questionable with a knee injury.
