Big 12 Championship Odds
ARLINGTON, TX (TheSpread) – No. 13 Nebraska and No. 10 Oklahoma battle for the Big 12 Championship Saturday night at 8PM ET from Cowboys Stadium.
Nebraska is 10-2 on the year and 6-2 in conference play while Oklahoma is also 10-2 overall and 6-2 in Big 12.
Trends show that Oklahoma is 4-1 against the spread in their last five conference games while Nebraska is 1-4 ATS in their last five following a straight up win.
Oddsmakers from online sportsbook SBGGLOBAL.com have made Oklahoma 4.5-point favorites in the championship game while the over/under total has been set at 53. (View Matchup)
Opening odds had Oklahoma favored by 3.5 points. The spread quickly moved up and was at large as 6.5 points before falling back to 4.5. The over/under total opened at 54 and has since dropped back to 53.
Oklahoma has won its last three games to break into the championship game. The Sooners have scored at least 27 points in all but one game and on the season, the Sooners average 37.5 points per game. The offense is led by Landry Jones, who has thrown for 3,947 yards and 34 touchdowns. His top receiving target is Ryan Broyles, who has caught 115 passes for 1,391 yards and 13 touchdowns. The Oklahoma defense us giving up 22.1 points per game on the year.
Nebraska beat Colorado last weekend after losing to Texas A&M the week prior. The Cornhuskers have lost both their games at home by seven points or less. On the year, Nebraska is averaging 33.8 points per game, but they are averaging just 155.2 passing yards per game. Their strength is their rushing attack, which averages 269.2 yards per game. Taylor Martinez has thrown for 1,435 yards and nine scores while rushing for 974 yards and 12 touchdowns. On defense, Nebraska is holding opponents to 16.8 points per game, which ranks eighth in the nation.
Nebraska quarterbacks Taylor Martinez and Zac Lee are both day-to-day with respective Injuries while Oklahoma running back DeMarco Murray is questionable with a leg injury.
A little over 9,800 Public Bets have been placed on this game and Oklahoma is getting 61% of the wagers at -4.5 against Nebraska.
