FARGO, N.D. (AP) -Ben Woodside scored 31 points and handed out 10 assists Wednesday to lead North Dakota State to a 117-84 men’s basketball win over Minot State.
After opening the season with losses at Florida at Rutgers, the Bison (1-2) had no trouble with Minot State, an NAIA school from the Dakota Athletic Conference.
Woodside, who went over the 1,000-point mark for career scoring, was 10-for-16 from the field, including a 5-for-6 showing from 3-point range. He has 1,021 points.
The Bison made 10 of 15 3-pointers while shooting 61 percent from the field.
Brett Winkelman had 28 points and seven rebounds and Mike Nelson added 20 points, including five 3-pointers.
Sam Sussenguth scored 12 points and grabbed eight rebounds off the Bison bench.
MSU (2-4) trailed 66-40 at halftime and fell behind by as much as 44 points in the second half. The Beavers shot 49 percent for the game.
Matt Witwer led MSU with 20 points and seven rebounds. C.J. DeWitty and Milan Cvetkovic added 14 points each.
