WASHINGTON (AP) -George Washington basketball guard Xavier Alexander has voluntarily withdrawn from the university.
Coach Karl Hobbs says the 6-foot-7 sophomore from Forrest Park, Okla., will be able to transfer to another school.
Alexander appeared in all 13 games this season for George Washington (6-7), starting 12, and averaged 3.5 points, 3.2 rebounds and 1.5 assists.
Alexander becomes the fourth GW player in 10 months to depart unexpectedly before his eligibility expired. Senior Maureece Rice was dismissed by Hobbs for “failing to adhere to team rules” in March near the end of last season, and junior Cheyenne Moore and freshman Miles Beatty were dismissed in May for failing to meet unspecified expectations.
