ST. LOUIS (AP) -Saint Louis senior guard Kevin Lisch fell hard on his tailbone in an 86-40 exhibition win over Harris-Stowe on Wednesday night and will likely miss a few days of practice.
Lisch, one of a few veterans on a team with seven freshmen, was hurt 2:05 into the game against the NAIA school. Lisch led the Billikens in scoring (14.6), assists (97) and steals (38) last season.
Jonathan Burch, the school’s director of sports medicine, said X-rays revealed Lisch sustained a bruise with a small cut.
“He’s a hard player, he’s a tough kid and he’ll want to get out there quicker than we’re ready for him to, but we’ll just be cautious with him,” Burch said. “He’ll be stiff and sore for a few days and fortunately young people heal pretty quickly.”
Saint Louis opens its season Nov. 14 against Missouri-St. Louis.
