CORAOPOLIS, Pa. (AP) -Devin Sweetney scored 19 points, including 13-for-14 from the free throw line, to lead Saint Francis, Pa. to a 75-66 victory over Robert Morris on Saturday.
Chris Berry scored 15 points and Cale Nelson added 10 for Saint Francis (2-6, 1-0 Northeast Conference) in a game that featured a dozen lead changes.
Tony Lee scored 17 points for Robert Morris (5-4, O-1) while Bateko Francisco scored 16, Mezie Nwigwe had 11 and A.J. Jackson added 10.
Robert Morris took a 64-63 lead after a layup from senior forward A.J. Jackson with 3:13 to play. But Nelson hit a pair of free throws to give Saint Francis the lead for good with 3:02 remaining as the Red Flash went on a 12-2 run to end the game.
Saint Francis ended the first half with a 12-7 run to take a 35-31 lead at the break. The Red Flash went on a 9-2 run to start the second half and took a 44-33 lead with 17:21 to play. But Robert Morris went on a 13-2 run to take a 47-46 lead on Lee’s layup with 12:22 remaining.
