LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) -Louisville center David Padgett will miss at least 10 weeks with a fractured right knee, coach Rick Pitino said Monday.
Padgett injured the knee late in the first half of No. 6 Louisville’s 84-53 win over Jackson State on Sunday. He was setting a screen at the top of the key for a teammate when he appeared to bang knees with a Jackson State player.
Pitino said initially the injury appeared to be a bruise. Padgett had surgery on both knees following the 2005-06 season.
Padgett is a fifth-year senior. If he could not return this season, his college career would be over unless the NCAA granted a sixth year of eligibility due to medical hardship.
