OXFORD, Miss. (AP) -Mississippi shooting guard Terrico White has entered his name in the NBA draft.
White won’t hire an agent, though, which means he could still play for the Rebels next season if he withdraws by May 8.
White says in a Friday news release he is simply trying to gauge where he might be taken in the draft. His decision allows NBA scouts to evaluate him. Coach Andy Kennedy says he supports White’s decision.
The 6-foot-5 Memphis, Tenn., resident was a member of the gold medal-winning U19 national team last summer and averaged 15.1 points and 4.6 rebounds last season as the Rebels advanced to the NIT semifinals.
He already has 955 points in his career and is a key piece on a team that could challenge for the Southeastern Conference title next season.
