Perhaps President Barack Obama should pay more attention to the polls.
The president picked against Arizona State – No. 19 in the latest Associated Press rankings – in his NCAA tournament bracket and it cost him when the Sun Devils turned back upset-minded Temple 66-57 Friday.
Through early evening, Obama had correctly predicted 18 of 28 games in the first round. He was among more than 5 million people who filled out ESPN online sheets, and he was a bit off the lead: He was in 4,287,379th place after the first set of night games.
Obama was 7-for-12 Friday, missing on Temple, Tennessee (vs. Oklahoma State), West Virginia (vs. Dayton), Boston College (vs. Southern California) and Utah (vs. Arizona).
The good news for the president: Every team he picked to reach the Sweet 16 had won.
Obama has top-seeded Louisville, North Carolina and Pittsburgh, and No. 2 Memphis reaching the Final Four. He took the Tar Heels to win the title.
