EMMITSBURG, Md. (AP) -Jeremy Goode scored 24 points and Jean Cajou added 23 to lead Mount St. Mary’s to a 78-67 win over Sacred Heart on Saturday.
Sacred Heart (6-11, 3-4 Northeast Conference) led for much of the first half and took a 31-24 lead with just under six minutes remaining. But Mount St. Mary’s (9-9, 4-3) forced five-straight turnovers, leading to a 9-0 run to take a 33-31 lead.
Sacred Heart tied the score at 33-33 at halftime, but was outscored 22-8 over the first eight minutes of the second half. Goode scored 12 points during the stretch, hitting two 3-pointers and three transition layups.
Shawn Atupem added 12 points, Sam Atupem had 11 and Kelly Beidler had a seven assists and five rebounds for Mount St. Mary’s.
Mehmet Sahan scored 15 points to lead the Pioneers, who lost five of their past seven. Corey Hassan added 13 points and Joey Henley had 12.
