KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) -Ameer Ali of Morgan State was ejected in the second half against Oklahoma Thursday night when he flipped Sooners’ star Blake Griffin over his back.
Griffin got up and was apparently not hurt. The nation’s leading rebounder and a top candidate for national player of the year, Griffin had 26 points and 12 rebounds when the incident occurred with 7:41 left and Oklahoma leading 60-44.
The players appeared to get entangled near the Morgan State basket. Then Ali locked his arm in Griffin’s and flipped him over onto the floor.
Morgan State coach Todd Bozeman immediately began talking to Ali, who was ejected at once.
