Playing for the first time in four years without star guard Greivis Vasquez, the Terrapins pulled from a 15-15 tie to take a 60-22 lead with 1:42 left before halftime.
It was the lone exhibition game for Maryland before the season opener against Seattle on Nov. 8 in the Coaches vs. Cancer Classic.
Terry Jenkins scored 19 points for Florida Southern, a Division II school that went 25-5 last season and was coming off a 90-70 exhibition loss to No. 17 Butler.
