KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) -Kansas State basketball coach Frank Martin is expected to sign a new contract.
The school scheduled a news conference for Sunday at 2:30 p.m. EST.
Martin has guided the Wildcats to a 24-6 record and the No. 2 seed in this week’s Big 12 tournament. He is the first man to win 20-plus games in each of his first three seasons at Kansas State.
Martin was an obscure assistant when Bob Huggins suddenly bolted Kansas State after one year and returned to his alma mater, West Virginia.
Given the job on something of an emergency basis, the Florida native responded by building the program to a level it hadn’t known in decades. His three-year record going into this postseason is 67-30.
