INDIANAPOLIS (AP) – Indiana coach Tom Crean says forward Devin Davis will not play this season.
Crean made the comments on podcast Monday with ESPN.com.
Davis, a sophomore, has not played since sustaining a brain injury in a fall traffic accident. Teammate Emmitt Holt hit Davis with a car in the early morning hours Nov. 1. He was not cited by police.
Davis has been practicing with No. 22 Indiana and re-enrolled at the university in January as a part-time student.
Crean said he also hopes forward Hanner Mosquera-Perea returns from a right knee injury in mid-February.
But during the Big Ten’s weekly conference call, Crean told reporters he was uncertain whether starting guard Robert Johnson would play Wednesday when the Hoosiers visit Purdue. Johnson was hurt during Sunday’s loss at Ohio State.
