CHILLICOTHE, Ohio (AP) -The Ohio University-Chillicothe basketball player who died after collapsing during practice had an enlarged heart.
Jonathan Davis, a 20-year-old sophomore from Hampton, Va., fell to the floor Monday and was pronounced dead at Adena Regional Medical Center.
The finding of an enlarged heart came in a coroner’s preliminary ruling. Coroner Dr. John Gabis said Wednesday autopsy results will be available in about two weeks.
A memorial service was scheduled for Friday at the school, about 45 miles south of Columbus. The university had suspended men’s and women’s sports events and practices but will resume play beginning Saturday.
